The Nashville Predators made 2 moves today. 1 Free Agent Signing and 1 Trade.
So to start of the day the Predators took a huge risk in signing Evgeni Nabokov. They signed him for 1 year for 3 Million a season. GM Edler23- was quoted saying, "We have been looking for a starting goalie and realized we could not acquire one in trade. So we are taking the risk to sign Nabokov. For this price if he ends up on a team then he will be worth the money and if not then he will be 3 Million dollars we shouldnt have spent. But we have confidence he will be on a team next year."
After was a trade with the St. Louis Blues. Nashville traded away 33 year old F Sergei Samsonov and 24 year old F Jack Skille for 24 year old F Guillaume Latendresse. When asked about this trade GM Edler23- responded, "It was a trade that needed to be made. We are getting full of forwards and Latendresse has the potential to be a 50 point player. While we wish the best of luck to Samsonov and Skille we know that Samsonov is getting older and Skille hasnt done as well on the Panthers."
